Anything happening out there in Angelina County with the oil/gas? Little off topic here but Angelina county sure could use industry based business that pay more. Wages have been stagnant since 1970's. Hats off to all those out there raising families on $20.00 an hour or less. How can a working man or woman pay for there kids college on that kind of wage. You can't! Kid has to get a loan or a scholarship. Too bad the Powers,(ie Old Money), here have kept other industry out that would pay more then they pay. Must be a lot of money moving that we don't SEE! Need a Oil Refinery here then maybe we could buy gasoline at lower prices like the rest of the state. That is all...

There has been only 2 permits issued in the past year. They are located in Central Angelina and were both permitted by KNT Enterprises. Very shallow wells.
I believe Goodrich Petroleum plans to spud at least one well not too far from the EOG Sarge 1H well later on this year.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
