I am currently under lease to Encana in this section. Canyou tell me where to find additional info on this site.
frank, prior to the recent improvements in well results the bulk of GHS discussions on the TMS were posted in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale Group, link follows:
http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/group/tuscaloosamarineshale
When you go to that page be aware that not all discussions appear on the group's Main Page. At the bottom of the Main Page you can click View All to see the complete list of discussions.
All site discussions are archived and may be searched using the Search GoHaynesvilleShale.com box on the site's Main Page titled, Looking for something. Use a key word or phrase to access past discussions covering those topics.
I was actually wondering about the specific drill site. I tried the search but came up empty.

You're welcome, frank.
Rapad Drilling #31 reported 7 days Drilling Ahead, 5/23.
Rapad Drilling #31 reported 14 days Drilling Ahead @ 8872', 5/30.
This well spudded on May 21...the number of days listed must be from the date of arrival on site.
RigData reports the spud date as 5/17. The same day as the rig reported "Rigging Up". That tells me the bit hit the dirt later that day. 14 days from that date is last Friday, 5/30 when the rig reported "Drilling Ahead" @ 8872'. Whether that is accurate or not is beyond my personal knowledge however the dates and depth are in line with what would be expected.
I don't just get data from the rig report. I perform research in the MS Oil & Gas Board on almost a daily basis. In doing so it is not unusual to find dates that don't match up for the same well. The difference is usually small and inconsequential for my purposes so I don't mind. It is the nature of databases. I don't check the well dates in the database against the RigData report. I don't have time and don't find it particularly important. I don't take offense if anyone cares to differ on dates. I do try to explain when asked how the weekly rig reports are formatted and what the nomenclature means.
Thanks for passing the Rigdata reports along, Skip.
The information at least gives us an idea of what is happening out there.
Perhaps you can understand that when we locals see a rig taken down and being hauled down the road on a Thursday, but reported as "drilling away" on Friday or when we see a rig riding down the road on a Monday, but reported as spudded on the previous Friday, we kinda scratch our heads. And, these situations have occurred several times.
Still, as I've shared in the past, the Rigdata information has value and I hope you continue to report it.
I understand, Bernell. No offense taken. In addition to updates here on GHS I use the rig reports to compile my tracking spreadsheets for paying customers. For their purposes a few days variance is immaterial. Over six years I have found the RigData report to be generally accurate. If I could find any source more accurate at a reasonable price, I'd use it.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
