Received notice this week that Comstock has filed pre application notice to create two (2) additional drilling and production units in the Beech Grove Plantation field. Listed as TMS RA SUE & TMS RA SUF. The map attached to the notice shows the units being adjacent to each other running approx NE to SW. Who has any idea how long the next step may take?
Thanks

This Comstock unit application is in the pre-conference notice period. It should move to the Commissioner's public hearing schedule in about ten days to two weeks. By the time it reaches the schedule it will probably be a September hearing date. Approval of a unit does not create any requirement to drill. Comstock will have to apply for a permit to drill. They can get a six or twelve month permit. A permit to drill does not require notice so you'll have learn how to check for permits or wait until someome posts the permit to GHS.
Thanks Skip, that's how I thought the process worked. Looking at the map they sent these proposed units are surrounded by 4 pending units. Maybe we're sitting on something!!
Could be. Good Luck. Also this is the kind of information that needs to go on a parish group page as opposed to the Main Page. Look under the "Groups Latest Activity" section in the right hand column. Only a few of the groups are shown (the ones with the most recent posts). You can see all the groups by clicking View All. Join all the TMS parish groups and the Tuscaloosa Marine ShaleGroup to follow LA development. Join Mississippi Mineral Owners and the Amite and Wilkinson county groups to follow MS development. I suggest you join all.
When you post to one of those groups all the members will get an email notifying them of a new discussion. That doesn't happen when you post to the Main Page. Your discussion may get seen by the members interested in your subject, or it may not. Read this:
No, but you can. Go to the Options Button for this discussion and delete it or close it to replies. Then go the group page and click on Add A Discussion then post there. You can even cut and paste your discussion title and intro from the Main Page discussion to the group discussion. Regardless of what you do with this one it would be a service to the members sharing your TMS interest to post it where they will receive a notice email.
Could you post the plat for the proposed units?
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
