I realize that most wells are taking more that 30-40 days to drill but maybe I made the mistake of thinking that this rig and crew had it all figured out. Then again maybe they do and the geology change is making things go just a little slower.
This rig previously drilled the Horseshoe Hill site in over 40 days so I guess no need to be pessimistic about their current activity
No two wells are exactly the same, regardless of the rig. The energy companies design the drilling program and the drilling contractor executes it. In other words it's generally not the driller and crew making the decisions on how to drill the well. That is the responsibility of the company man assigned to the particular well and his superiors.
