Judy, you're welcome. All you have to do is follow this discussion.
Nabors Drilling #X17 reported 61 days Drilling Ahead @ 18,938', 10/24.
Skip, sounds like this rig is making some good progress! Please keep me posted. Many thanks, Judy Smith
Judy, Drilling Ahead is a general term that includes normal operations beyond actual drilling. I suspect that the drilling is done and that this most recent report indicates operations to condition the hole and set the final casing string. It's likely the last rig report we will get on the Verberne.
Gotcha. So my assumption is that when they set the final casing string, the rig is pretty much ready to be fracked? When that happens when will you get another report? Thank you.
The rig is not involved in completion operations (frac). That is a separate crew. There is often weeks between the rig leaving and the frac crew showing up. Once the rig reports cease the only source of well status will be announcements by the well operator, if any. Often we won't hear anything until the completion and initial production data is released.
sorry for this e-mail, but has this rig done any fracking yet?
Sorry for the comment, I was out of line
Drilling rigs have nothing to do with fracing operations. They drill the hole. Then they leave to drill another hole. A completely different crew performs the frac. The well often sits uncompleted for weeks if not longer.
Skip, thanks for the response. Please let me know when you receive any more word on this site, i.e. fracking, etc. Many thanks, Judy Smith
Judy, once the rig has finished drilling (and it appears that it has), there will be no more weekly reports. Then the wait will be for comments from members who may live in the area and eventually the operator announcing the production results or filing a completion report with the state. It
thank you Skip! just wondering if there is a website that i could go to tell me latest on the fracing, prodution of this well? Thank you, Judy Smith

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
