All,
I have had many offers for minerals in section 5 in Belmont Louisiana, can anyone tell me what is the best thing to do? Just would like to hear some thoughts from someone else.

Get with a good O&G Attorney. Throw some money at them. Learn as much as you can on your own. Never allow yourself to feel pressured into making a decision quickly. This stuff isn't going to just up and disappear, the interest may wax and wain, but it's there until it's harvested.

Another thing I have to keep reminding myself, I could be getting nothing...
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
