Ted, that is an interesting offer considering how far Section 32 is from the defined Haynesville Shale fairway.  Approximately 8 to 9 miles as the crow flies.  I am not familiar with Areana Minerals and there is no website or other internet presence under that name.  There is an Arena Minerals that has a Facebook page which I will link below.  Here is what that companies Facebook page states.  Arena, if that is the same company that offered the lease, is in the Lithium business.  If you could share the terms of the lease offer, that might help to know whether Arena or Areana is interested in Oil & Gas or in Lithium.

LITHIUM! Wow that's way out of left field. The parcel is 120 acres in sec. 31 and 40 acres in section 32. the offer was for 1,200 per acre, which is funny because 2 weeks ago some scammers wanted  to buy it all for $801.875 per acre. Went straight to round file. I think the best way forward is to roll the dice and hope for a drill bit one day.

The location doesn't make sense for lithium or Haynesville Shale - without some science that is determinative for one or the other.  I would decline until there is more information.

Have to wonder if there is a shallow formation (than the Smackover) out in this area with big water source potential (and perhaps lithium content).

have no idea if this means anything but there have been 1 well drilled in section 31 and 1 well drilled in section 32. In section 31 a 6800 foot vertical well (serial #222790) was completed in 02-1999. It lasted until 11-2013. Its best month it produced 61,873 MCF. In 2001 a well was drilled in section 32 (serial #225685) that was 9800 feet vertical.On Good Friday 2001 i talked to the engineer and was told that was gas was present but the investors were meeting monday to discuss the situation. It was P&A in April 2001. O well. so that is all i know about those 2 sections. maybe you guys can make some sense out of this

Those two wells you mention may be the reason that this group is trying to lease this area - essentially trying to exploit "known" gas potential in one or two different intervals.

6800' zone may have some offset potential (thinking that this may be Rodessa section) while the 9800' well with the possible bypassed gas zones (Hosston SS?) may be a target.

More modern frac technology may be a key issue in trying to access for recoverable gas for either or both of these intervals.
