Good afternoon,
In addition to the YouTube video tutorial we published in October, pdf documents are now available and will continue to be published. Visit www.sonris.com > Useful SONRIS Documents. Direct links to the documents are below.
Wells by well serial number - with additional functionality- includes all documentation.
The remaining options are selections from the full document above based on user feedback.

Yes, they are on production. Sonris production has a lag time. I looked at a commercial source and found them to be on production.
Skip, can you tell me where I can look up wells by S-T-R? I still haven't figured out how to look it up. Thanks
Most of the previous search options are now in one search, Well Information. See link below. This database architecture is common but so different from what we have been used to that I think it confuses many members. When confronted with this search system, the best approach is to input as little as possible. In the Well Information search, only enter the section-township-range. This will pull up all the wells in the section. For years I used this search by only entering the township and range so I could see all the wells in the township. This was helpful because horizontal wells are organized by the section where they have a surface location for wells actually producing from other adjoining sections. The original SONRIS database was created when there were no horizontal wells and all were vertical. Now that complicates things. Start with this search architecture and experiment by entering different information. If you are interested in a single well, use the serial number. If you want to see all the wells in a township, leave the section box blank and just input the township and range. You have to spend some time figuring out how to easily do the simple searches that are important to you.

Yeah thanks so much. That worked ha. These horizontals have made the searches harder for sure. Anyways, Merry Christmas and thanks for helping me out.
John, feedback from database users is important for the SONRIS staff to understand how we use the database. They have been forced into a project and are doing the best they can. If we let them know what works and what doesn't my hope is that they can adjust the architecture to get back to a more user friendly system.
It is important to realize that the main users of the database are not you and me and the general public. It is the industry. By stating our objections, desires and making reasonable suggestions we may be able to help get the new system as usable as the old architecture. This is a process that we should want to participate in.
Ok I get you. I just became so used to the old system, but change is inevitable on everything. Let me play around with it this weekend and I'll give you some opinions on what I think. Thanks for all the information you post on this site. You are a wealth of knowledge for the industry and landowners. If you ever have time for lunch, let me know.
I enjoy interacting with website members, John. And I have a number of lunch spots I like! Merry Christmas.
As do I ha. Merry Christmas to you also. I'll reach out after the first of the year. Thanks again for the assistance.
