It's been a few weeks, but the last time I went through the Natchitoches courthouse, a company called Tall Pine Energy had leased ~8600 acres in the Robeline area. I believe this is a company taking leases for GEP.

The green sections in the image below are the Sections where Tall Pine filed leases.

GEPH II permits first Robeline Field well.

Members of the Natchitoches Parish group need to be spreading the word to friends and neighbors about this emerging play.  The area has experienced little in the way of O&G activity in decades and many land owners will not be informed.  Being uninformed leads far too often to bad decisions or at least uninformed decisions.  It is in the best interests of all land and mineral owners in the area to know what is going on and to be informed when it comes to considering a lease offer.  The more informed they are, the better the lease terms become.  Leasing has been ongoing for a good while now and many owners of more modest acreage will be getting offers to lease.  Spread the word!  It helps everyone.

I’m in section 33-9N - 8W and have a lease offer from GEP but I haven’t seen or heard much discussions on the leasing in this area. Anybody have any insight you want to share?

Paul, you are the first to mention leasing in any 9N-8W section.  The entire township has never had a producing well so there is zero well control.  Please encourage others who are receiving lease offers to join GoHaynesvilleShale and join in the discussions.  There is a lot of leasing activity in Natchitoches Parish that is flying under the radar.  The leasing reports we have so far are to your west in 9N-10W and 9N-9W.

Slight correction to Skip's comment @ well control in this township - although there has been no production in (n-8W, there have been about 10 wells drilled (all dry holes) in the township ranging down to 8200'.

One producing well just 2 miles south of the township with 1.5 BCF of gas from a 7500' well (Hosston?)/

Lack of or minor well control does not preclude exploration and prospecting - this is where regional studies (covering hundreds of miles and numerous wells) plus seismic control at the key tools for identifying prospects in areas like this

I noted the dry holes in the township when I looked on SONRIS.  None appeared to have sufficient depth to test the Haynesville.

Had a call from a land man out of Lafayette about 5 weeks ago. We’re in 9N-8W.  Made a lot of claims about upcoming activity and tried to judge our interest. Not a word since.

William, was the landman representing GEPH II?  What section in 9N-8W.  Anything you can share may be helpful to others.  My suggestion to all mineral owners who are approached about a lease is to request a copy of the proposed lease.  That provides the details needed to assess an offer.  More important detail than many landmen share on an initial contact.  Landmen could be working for an operator or for an investor (flipper).  It is helpful know which it is.

He didn’t say who he was representing. We did request he send lease copies. He said he would. He never responded. A bit strange. We’re in 17 & 20.

If you saved his phone number you might want to call him back about sending a copy of the proposed lease.  I would speculate that his is contacting a number of mineral owners on his list.  It may take some time for him to circle back to you.  Although there is obvious interest in leasing, the question at this point is - over how much of an area.  Is it focused on a few sections or the entire township.  Your reply and Paul's would seem to indicate that the southern half of the township is getting offers.

I updated my map last week to highlight the sections, not individual tracts, where GEP/Tall Pine has filed leases. My last acreage count of filed leases is ~17,700 Ac across 43 sections. I am very interested in seeing the results from the first well they drilled in this area.
