We've all heard, the landman said "*%#$^" and now I find out that it is not true or it is misleading, or it is a common scare tactic.
So lets discuss what constitutes outright fraud, what is a common scare tactic and what is a downright lie. And what the implications are for each.
A friend of mine was told they wouldn't drill a well for at least 3 years. Now they are ready to drill after 1 year. Problem is he only owns 1/2 of his minerals and won't own the other half for another year. He definitely would not have leased.
Was the landman misleading, lying or did he commit fraud.
Lot's of us have similar stories. Let's share them with each other, so no one else will fall for the same line.

Thanks Po Boy. I try to be a straight shooter.
I am cautious of trojan horses, but when the time comes I will take a look inside this one po boy, you might have something. If I take a chance on someone I will take the odds if he is one of us.
Jack, I am not a Trojan Horse, go ask my Lessors around Belmont and Pleasant Hill.
I am not sure what you mean by," Trojan horses". i was expressing my opinion of Scarbrock as a person. I would like as many landmen.brokers, investors, speculators, lawyers, as possible in these discussions. I can judge for my self what is consistant and credible. I will not take a US and Them mind set. I am here for the knowledge and information that is available. Some of the best sources may be rude, they may be arrogant, i do not care-they are valuable to me. The most the best hustler in here can get from me is a lease or two, but I plan to leave with every bit of knowledge I can Squeeze from them . To quote one of the best sources in here: "It ain't rocket science."
Po Boy, I ain't no rocket science person but I am a bit leery of shooting seismic from the sky without a permit. Another Post. A spy or someone placed in the area would be a "Trojan Horse". I was there before the shalers. I had no knowledge of the shale until a couple of weeks past Easter.
I read an abstract on the formation published in 2002 by a university in TX, but TWO miles down- it meant nothing to me but interesting geology at the time. seismic from the sky without a permit.>> Radar mapping from the helicopter ,maybe. The USGS has had magnetic and gravity maps on the strata forever. Guess anything is posible.
Ok now i understand what a Trojan horse is..and of course none of us landowners would "pump and dump"! BIZ is BIZ.
