KB, there have been several Cotton Valley wells drilled and completed at this depth in the Liberty Hill Field. This would be consistent with previous statements that indicate formations are at deeper depths as you move east and south.
Jim, you should just clarify the Deep Bossier play in Texas (RRC District 5) is a tight sandstone rather than a shale.
Gray, I am not aware of any similar plays in Northwest Louisiana since geology is different. EnCana has done extensive work on the trend and I would suggest you look at the map on page 5 of the following presentation. The possible Deep Bossier play areas all end with "smith":

Grayshales, your constant harping of the great redefinition conspiracy theory is wearing me out. I feel I'm not alone. Thought you were going to take all this BS to your Group's page as it has absolutely nothing to do with the Haynesville Shale.
P.S. Greysands is a more appropriate name.
KB, Petrohawk has four wells > 20 MMcfd in RRP with EnCana & Chesapeake having one each.
KB, I have heard all the activity is generating a lot of local benefits even for people that do not have mineral rights. Various service companies have opened offices in Coushatta generating new cash flow.
Can anyone explain Chesapeake's Muslow well 238892 in Sligo Sec. 30 17N 11W? This area may not be considered a core area, but 349mcfd?
JM, that is the result of a vertical well completed in the northern portion of the trend. It would expect Chesapeake to re-enter at some point and add a lateral.
Les, Can you learn anything about the potential for that area based on those results from a vertical well, or is more information need?
JM, Chesapeake will be able to learn something but there is not enough information for outsiders to really know anything about the real potential in my opinion.
