Goodrich contacted me re: jessie wilson survey, A-725. We don't live on the land, my grandfather left me the mineral rights. My contact person said he does not know if it is Haynesville or Cotten valley. He said he thought they are going to 10-12,000 but is not sure. Said they are drilling all around us and we would be pooled. Does anyone have any knowledge of this area or any helpful info? I only have a little over 2 acres and have been told it is not worth getting professional advice.

If he wants to lease your land, doesn't know what formation they are drilling, then tells you you will be force pooled I would be very wary of this guy.
In my opinion, make Goodrich take two or three passes at you before considering anything. Forced pooling in Tx is rare and is a major hassel in Austin for the E & P companies (especially over 2 acres) and frankly the Tx Railroad Commission did not make this rule for the E & P companies, they created this rule so companies like Goodrich CAN NOT overlook or SHUT-OUT small landowners and must include them. That's why they are finally calling you.... Now you can haggle from a position of strength.....

On another matter, in my opinion, ya'll watch, Chesapeake sold their shallow mineral rights to Indigo because Chesapeake could not drill and hold all their leases (in East Texas in particular). Indigo will punch hundreds of cheap wells to hold Chesapeakes leases in Rusk, southern Panola and northern Shelby counties. I believe that is the "40,000 contiguios acres," Indigo & Chesapeake have specified in their press release. If this is the case, and I believe it is, their name will be Mud in many a shale family in East Texas.
