I was told yesterday that Encana will be moving two rigs to the Pleasant Hill Belmont area to drill test wells. Source said Encana wants to validate information that Shell supplied. The source would not elaborate any further. The source is in the industry and is considered to be reliable.

Skip they have about 9 or 10 months left on the first leases taken.
Thanks, Two Dogs. Suspected as much. At least there is no rig shortage and the competition for field services should make for reduced drilling costs. Any idea what the pipeline infrastructure is like in north Sabine? And how many wells are needed to HBP SWEPI's leasehold?
TD, thanks for the info. This seems consistent with a lot of the EnCana acreage in Red River and Natchitoches Parish.
does anyone know if this is around s6 t9 11w. In Pleasant Hill. live out of town. Still hoping!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Steve
Steve. There are a number of staked locations in north Sabine. The well permit closest to your section so far is S4 - 9N - 11W which is in the Grogan Field. There is a recent permit in the Pleasant Hill Field - S3 - 9N - 12W. Your section is in a SWEPI HA drilling unit. Encana (SWEPI's partner) has applied for three HA north Sabine permits in the last week. Development activity seems to be ramping up in your area. Good Luck.
Skip, I have some land in s4-9n-11w and have a lease but no one has contacted me about the possibility of drilling. Do they have to, or only if and when they hit gas? I am new to this so any help would be great. Is there a way i can follow the progress of the drilling?
Gambler, the following is the well in your section:

EnCana, RSD LLC 4 #H1 Well, Serial #239985, S4-T9N-R11W

You can use the Ser # to track the well in Sonris Lite.

By the way, is your lease with EnCana or Shell (SWEPI)?
Gambler. There is no requirement to contact you before drilling commences with the possible exception of a case in which the operator wishes to use a portion of your surface in connection with development. As Les points out you can follow the progress of your well on the state database, SONRIS. And since reporting and posting to SONRIS lags the actual activity in the field, it's nice to have members report on progress from eye witness accounts. Good Luck. We hope you make Les's top 20.
Thanks for the info. What is Les's top 20 and how do i find it?
The top producing HA wells reported to date. Go to "Shaler Groups" at the top of the page. Then to Drilling Rig Locations. Scroll down to the discussion, "Haynesville Shale - Well Hall of Fame". Les updates the list periodically. At the moment it is 22 wells with IP (initial production) of 20 MMcfd or better.
I believe all the leases are held by EnCana. Shell, I believe is joint operating with them.
Was supposed to be Sabine and Desoto, while EnCana was to be Red River and Natchitoches.
Does sound like EnCana is trying to tie up some of their acreage. Doesn't look like SWEPI is going to be able do it all. There is not much take away capacity as far a pipeline choices. Maybe they will shut some in for a while.
There is the Crosstex(LIG) line (6" Line) to the west of p. Hill and a 10" TGP(El Paso) line that runs from Natchitoches Parish -northwest to above Pelican and on father on it to Texas. There is another 8" Crosstex line that starts in T10N-R10W-Sec 7 that goes northeast. That looks to be connected to the 10" TGP line. Just not much pipeline capacity unless new larger pipelines are built in this particular area. There are some planned expansions, but those are north of Mansfield, that I know of.
Pelkid, actually there is a 20" Tennessee Gas P/L (El Paso) that originates in Carthage and runs southeast to Natchitoches where it ties into TGP's main 100 Leg system. That 20" should be able to handle maybe 300 MMcfd.
