If a company made a lease offer in 2008 and Disappears will they come back with another offer in 2009

In 2008 a bunch of land owners had offers presented to them does any one think that they will be back with a new offer are should they forget about the offers altogether and go on with their lives

There could be several players in any one unit, unleased mineral owners, any number of scenarios. Only one company will be named the unit operator,
Pulling the old "now you see me -- now you don't" disappearing act is just another tactic out of their bag of tricks. They want YOU to call them, which by doing puts you in a weak bargaining position. I promise you, if the landman is really serious about it all -- they will find you -- you won't have to go looking for them !! It may take awhile, but be patient and wait. In short, for the time being that is, forgetaboutit.

If you've got the gas then you've got it. It won't go anywhere, although some companies may fly by night and fade away. Don't get in a hurry.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
