that's great news for that area. also great news for me as i am about 6 miles to the south of the area. cabot seems to really like what they found there. i hope their work inspires other operators in the area to look for some "pay behind the pipe". i think it would be great if they took some of the older wells and recompleted them to the pettet.
who knows, mabey an oil boom is underway. we would probably be the last ones to know...lol
just thinking out loud here... would'nt the well logs from the older C/V wells have indications as to wether or not the pettet was an oil producer in a given location?

When all this first started opening up I was told by a 'old timer' that the companies knew there was oil available in Shelby Co. but they wanted to get the gas first then come back up and get the oil. I dismissed it as specuative talk but it really looks like he may have had more information than I realized.

That is what my Grandfather Whitton used to say, I guess.... something about there being a lot of oil under Shelby and San Augustine counties and that we just need someone willing to 'want it' to get them to drill.... 'God willing and the river don't rise' it looks like we may be headed that way!

Over the years I've heard that from several 'old timers' . Just wonder what gave them that idea?
