I don't know why they call us "Hillbillies"!
Why one would have to live as far North as Plain Dealing (where the real hills are) and they certainly aren't drilling the shale up there, right?
Not hillbillies maybe Coonasses.
Think they'd welcome us Hilbillys when a bunch of us retire early and start traveling abroad to spend some of the bucks over there?
Watch out for those swampland's on the outskirt's of bossier city !!!
Had a little girl from Oklahoma visit my family this year and when she walked up on our porch, she used the term "redneck hillbilly" to describe our home. I was soooo proud !
Let 'em think what they want (overseas & elsewhere in the U.S.) We know why we choose to live here and it's not because we thought we'd all be rich one day... it's because neighbors look out for eachother and really care about their communities.
The HS is just a little 'Lagniappe' (LanYap) for us. Cajun term for 'a little something extra'.

From what I understand the reason Texas does not fall into the Gulf of Mexico is because Oklahoma sucks.
