Just received a letter to form a drilling and production unit for sec.25 T12N R9W in Red River Parish. The survey has been completed and the well pad/road marked. Are there any questions that we should ask during the meeting? We are leased by Encana and they have paid the damages for the well pad. This letter was for l unit, however, a couple weeks ago we received a letter concerning 11 units being formed in Carrol Creek Field that is next to Sec 25/26 that we own land in. We are new to this well business as is a lot of others. I enjoy reading and learning from this site. Any help is greatly apprecialted.

BJ. Thank you for the heads up. Could you possibly upload a copy of the pre-conference notice letter? The plat would be of particular interest.
Sorry, I don't have the equipment to upload copies...I can tell you that if you turn down Union Hall Church Rd. (71 HWY) you'll see the flags! Should we have any questions that need to be answered in the pre-conference meeting? Thanks for replying...BJ
Unless someone on the "Interested Party" list requests the pre-conference meeting, it will not be held. And the unit application will move to the Public Hearing schedule for formal approval in Baton Rouge. Without a copy of the letter and plat, it is impossible for anyone to review it and suggest questions to ask.
Jay, thanks for posting but I believe the topic is concerning a unit that has not yet been filed.
Hey Jay, it was a great initial effort anyway. I will just keep Skip from trying to interpret logs or explain depositional environments.
Dang. And I was just readin' up on those very disciplines. I guess I will just have to stay in my corner also. LOL!
BJ, I do not think there are many questions to be asked at a pre-hearing conference for your area. You might just ask about EnCana's planned timing for drilling. I would think it would be in the next 9 months given many leases in the area are approaching expiration in mid-2010.

If you would please post a listing of the Section-Township-Range and Unit Name for your proposed unit and the 11 Carrol Creek units. You can just include the Haynesville units as the others are of less interest.

Thanks for any information.
Les B you are correct, they have not been filed yet.Sec25 T 12N R 9W HA RA SUV for our section. Have to get back later on the other letter, busy right now. Thanks for your help.BJ
on the other letter it says to further define sec28 T13N R9W Hoss RA SUA and tocreate 11 drilling and production units all in the carrol creek field. 23-Ha RA SUO, 22 HA RA SUN, 15 HA RA SUL, 16 HA RA SUM, 8 HA RA SUI, 9 HA RA SUJ, 10 HA RA SUK, 5 HA RA SUH, 4 HA RA SUG, 3 HA RA SUF, 34 HA RA SUQ, and HA RA SUP. Hope this is of some help.BJ
BJ, perfect and thanks for the info. This really fills in a lot of the acreage between the Ashland Road and Hickory Grove Road.

By the way, do you have the section number for HA RA SUP?
sec 33 HA RA SUP...BJ
BJ. Unless I'm counting wrong, that's 12, not 11 units/sections. Is 12 correct?
