Skip,

Thanks - haven't looked yet, but have you noticed anything that makes these special, in terms of location, productivity of the other wells in the unit, etc?

I haven't looked either.  The Bethany Longstreet Field has been an area of focus for Chesapeake since the very early days of the Haynesville Play.
Their first Alternate Unit wells will be in Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15,  & 16, T14N, R15W., Caddo & DeSoto Parishes.  Both Centerpoint & Energy Transfer have large interstate pipes very close by.  Additionally, Chesapeake has a 20 acre compressor station in the middle of these nine sections.
I am also hearing that they plan to drill Bossier wells on some or all of the 9 sections.
So I guess the story is location! location! location!
Or infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure.  It is hard to imagine a gathering system capable of serving that many wells on flush production in a relatively limited area.
SB, it will be interesting to see an EUR projection for a unit with all allowed alternate unit wells for both formations.  As your friend might say, Now that's some GAS!

What are unit alternate wells ?   If ya'll would be so kind to explain.  please.

thank you in advance.

alternate unit wells are the "infill" wells drilled after the unit is created with the first well

I sure hope that whoever got stuck with the 20-acre compressor station didn't sign the standard lease and get nothing in return for giving up 20 acres.  That would sure stink.

Additionally, CHK has plans for another 9-section block in Sections 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, & 28 of T10N, R13W.

She sold the 20 acres for $20,000 per acre.

I have no idea why it printed this response more than once or how to get rid of the duplicate response.
