I am hesitant to even ask this question but I just cant decide what to do. My husband passed away last year and he dealt with most of the major decissions. This being one of those. Please be patient with me.We are doing o.k. but are just trying to get our feet back under us.Thank you in advance.

We own about 40 acres in a section that has already been unitized. My huband had been in talks with people earlier last year, that represented a company that said they were interested in leasing our acreage. But those offers of late aren't anything like the ones that Gary and I had talked about.
I have looked at the forced pooling issue and read the discussions on here, more then once.I have also bungled my way through Sonrise and studied well info that just doesnt jive with the offers that are being thrown at me now.As I stated, we are doing o.k. But the future of my two kids could be adversely affected by me not making the right decission.I am not a numbers whiz but from every example that I have figured, I cant find any reason why my land isnt at least worth $30,000 an acre for a bonus. If I am not going to be paid that amount, why would I sign a lease?

Hi Guys:

Listen, I’ve got a situation I'm sure some of you really smart people can fix in a jiffy. I've got an agreement with a biggish independent oil company wherein they agreed to drill a lease I owned and abide by certain very specific language as to what they would charge for drilling, producing and transporting oil and gas from any well(s) they drilled. The terms of the agreement are crystal clear...I mean the sort of language that gtbay would read and say, "That's it, what more can you say?"

Anyway, the biggish independent is not abiding by the agreement. Problem is, I've got a mineral owner that I promised to out look for when I bought their lease. So, I filed a lawsuit last year, or was it the year before, (time flies when you’re spending your own money) and we still don't have a court date. The biggish independent is FIGHTING me. Imagine that...and I'm right!!!!

My lawyer assures me I will prevail. I am comforted by his words every time I write a check.

I won't say how much I've spent so far because my wife would FLIP! Let's just say I could buy a brand new Escalade w/ 24's if I hadn't had to file this suit........but I will win. I just don't know when it’s going to be over, or, how may new cars or college educations it will cost me.....but, I promised to play the hand out.

So, I need to know how to make this biggish independent roll over and abide by the terms of our agreement…. I’m sure the smartest guy in the room…you know who you are……(did you own a drugstore in New Orleans) can tell me the magic words to make it all go away.

Thanks. That's helpful, and oh so responsive.
Have you tried calling their mothers? That usually works for me. LOL (joking) :0)

He is confusing our rsp'd maddog with Messrs. Katz & Besthoff.

While they may sound like two lawyers, they actually owned a reputable chain of drug stores based out of the the great N. O. Besides, our girl could argue circles around those two guys...
Now that is funny.

Thanks, Dion, lots of things go over my head.

But I used to love ink pens from K&B. They wrote purple.
Parker:

De nada.

The answer is: Thermal reduction and thermal cracking of kerogen and petroleum in situ at pressure in a low-oxygen environment, mediated by the presence of water.

Love ya KB.

I understand that you are a female lawyer. If that's so, you would be much more qualified than moi to give people a cost/ benefit analysis re getting into a contest with an oil company. Do you have much experience with litigation?

Best,

Jay
