Does anybody want to divide up the site between Shale and everything else?
I would like to know if anyone else besides me is interested in a split home page with Shale threads on top, then all of the other banter below in a separate thread section. This separate thread section could still be active where the hot threads go to the top, but they would not compete with the Shale threads. Thoughts anyone? The current tone of the site seems to be non Shale.

that blog entry was so far over my head for the most part i would never presume to have much beyond the most basic and obvious opinions concerning any of the content, most folks are probably in the same boat.

IMHO, I would welcome a split of sorts. It would make the topics you want to follow easier. Whether they be shale related or political for instance. Personally I think the political discussions infiltrated too many of the "shale" threads, but I have seen a change for the better lately.

crack down on moderation in "serious" threads, problem solved. i'm sure any number of people willing to do it for free. or are there already designated "mods?" if so, stricter guidelines and/or enforcement are in order if people are really concerned.

I almost never read a post unless it is related to the Haynesville Shale play in some form or fashion. The rest of them I could care less about. I vote yes!

Shale only banter could be posted in the area already created for the professionals. Become a moderator and delete anything that doesnt pertain to your thread. Hijackings will take place. If you can find a way to keep a thread completely pure to its topic, I would be surprised.

Actually, some of the other ones also have their own groups. Political, financial, clueless ...etc. IMO, I don't think this is a matter of what the topics & categories are on the front page. I haven't been here much today, but I'm reading posts on this discussion that indicate other problems.
