It appears as though EnCana has selected a location for one of their initial pilots of the "Gas Factory" concept.  They have recently permitted six (6) new wells that will all be drilled from a surface location in the southwest corner of Section 26 in T15N-R14W.  Four (4) of these wells will be drilled into Section 35 and the remaining two (2) drilled in Section 26.  There is already one previously drilled well at this surface location.

I'm sorry, Les, but you must be wrong! You know full well that Mr. Arthur Berman has stated that the gas factory approach is impossible, impractical, and uneconomic. There is no way that Encana would go against his vast wisdom! I mean, just because some wells produced more in their first year than he said they'd produce in their lifetime.......chalk it up to a minor thought glitch by Berman. Encana, you're doomed to failure!!!!
SB, thanks for some early Friday morning entertainment. I almost cracked a rib from laughing so hard!!!
Les, where and how can one check on the status of an application for permitted wells?
Wonderful, thanks so much!
Parkdota, well permits are not posted on Sonris until approved by the State.
Les, is there any way to tell what the initial application requested? Did they only ask for 6 new wells or did they ask for more and were only granted 6?
Many thanks.....it looks like they asked for 14 total and were granted 6. Any idea as to why or if they'll get the other 8?
Encana submitted an application for "alternate unit wells" to gain approval from the Commissioner for their development plan. Those are unit wells on the application plat above, not well permits. Upon approval of their unit well plan, Encana submitted well permit applications for the wells that Les has listed. Encana will likely submit permits in the future for the additional alternate unit wells.
Ah, I gotcha....thanks again. Basically it appears that Encana is getting what they wanted which is good. I really appreciate your knowledge...and patience. :)
Parkdota, always make sure you keep the following type of applications separate:

1) Unit applications
2) Alternate well applications
3) Well permit applications
