150 miles of 42" pipeline installed and flowing in 1.5 years ?

Did anyone else read the story in The Times about three weeks ago where they wrote about the 150 miles of 42" WSP that will run from W Desota Parish to a hub network in Delhi La. ? They said that it will be online and flowing in late 2009 or so. They still need to draw the plans , buy ROW , buy and manufacture the pipe , let contracts then install this much 42" pipe with open cut , road bores , bridges and many many problems and change orders. I have been around Civil Engineering for 32 years and I cant see this all taking place by late 2009 if I read it correctly. With them being at point zero in the chain of events that must take place to begin this pipeline project I just cant see this project being completed in that timeline. Even if they hired 5 or 6 contractors it will take a minimum of 3 years to finish a project that big even if they had it designed with ROW purchased , pipe ordered , etc. I was told that the reason that they said late 2009 was due to the fact that some have been told if they dont hurry up and sign you will slow the project down and delay your royalties. If someone knew that it would be 4-5 years before they start getting there royalty checks some might hold out a while longer before signing ? Maybe this wasnt there intent when saying late 2009 but I just cant see that project being completed for at least 2.5 to 3 years. Any real NG pipeliners out there ? They can roll on with a side boom and excavators plus most gas lines are shallow but late 2009 ? Jed

Thanks , Jed
Jed, I am revising my previous comment. The Times article does discuss a new 150 mile pipeline proposed by DCP & Momentum from Desoto to Delhi with 1.5 Bcfd of capacity. The size is not specified as the 42" refers to the two existing pipelines and the new Midcontinent Express Pipeline. Sorry about the error.

Thought this was a cool pic.
I know that the article says that the line is supposed to originate in western DeSoto and run to Delhi, but does anyone know the approximate path the line is going to take? According to the map, it looks like it will run above LA 510 where our property is in DeSoto, but I just want to make sure. Any input would be greatly appreciated. =)
Pipeline in desoto is going to take same right of way that gulf south is using, its doing to lay beside three other major pipe lines. They are surveying my property now
Where is your property? I have no idea where the Gulf South pipeline is.
my property is in sect 28 -14-14 south of gloster pipeline crossing I-49 about 1 mile south of La 5-I know there is a 42 inch and not sure about the other two maybe a 32&36 all three go to Delhi
Ok, then it looks as though they won't be looking at our land to lay pipe (26 & 27-12-11). That's a good sign. No extra money for us, but I was told that pipe wouldn't do a lot for the property value and that you couldn't do much with the land if they did lay pipe there.
True a pipeline does not do much for property value but what they pay for right of way there no way I can lose
Boardwalk Announces Binding Open Season for an Expansion of Its Gulf South Pipeline System
pdf Version

HOUSTON, Sep 10, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP (NYSE:BWP) announced today that its subsidiary Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP is conducting a Binding Open Season to solicit commitments to support an expansion of its new East Texas to Mississippi 42-inch pipeline in order to serve increased production out of East Texas and the Haynesville Shale.
"Natural gas production volumes from the Barnett Shale and conventional plays in Northeast Texas and Northwest Louisiana continue to exceed expectations", said Brian Cody, Boardwalk Pipeline Partners' Chief Commercial Officer. "Anticipated new production from the emerging Haynesville Shale play in Northwest Louisiana coupled with the increasing volume from Texas provide a significant long-term demand for additional pipeline take-away capacity. Gulf South is uniquely positioned to efficiently expand its existing 42-inch pipeline to meet the needs of its customers."

An expansion of the Gulf South 42-inch pipeline will provide much needed export capacity for producers in these rapidly growing areas to provide access to the Midwest and Northeast markets through interconnections with Texas Gas and other Interstate pipelines in the Perryville area, as well as access to the pipelines serving the Southeast Markets through the Gulf South system and connection with the Southeast Supply Header.
