For all of you who don't know Jay...he is ShaleGeo. He has been constantly bombarded with questions and mail since he started on this site. Now he is fed up with the nasty ways. You got what you wanted. If you don't want him to go, you better tell him NOW!

I don't think there is anyone who has been on this site who does not have respect for all of the information that Jay has provided.

I have gotten frustrated with others and have not put things as eloquently as I would like.

If I in any way offended Jay, be assured this was not my intention.

All of our tempers have flared under discussions that we have strongly held opinions about. That surely does not mean that we are not all trying to do the same thing.

I trust and respect both Mr. McConnell and Jay.
This feels like when a church splits.

Both sides are trying to accomplish the same goals.

Back to what MomA1 said in another post, "can't we all just get along".
Jay not only told me how to find information about old wells on my property but looked them up for me and told me the information. I usually only come to this site to see what Jay has to say. Like everything else in life when something gets too big it gets out of control. I was excited at first about all this natural gas activity but now I have had so many close calls with these big rigs flying down the road that I am seriously thinking of drawing up a last will and testament. The roads are being torn up as well. Maybe it's true that before all this is over with most of us will decide the money ain't worth it. I don't blame Jay at all for the way he feels and wish him the best.
He ain't dead people , he's pissed ! Big difference. Go to Jay's comment wall and explain how much he means to this site. Then go to McConnells wall and tell him to stick a sock in it ! HA! HA! Just kinda' kiddin' Mr. Jim.
Jay:

In no way should the views of one particular CPL reflect the opinion of landmen everywhere.

Please do not go.

You are of great assistance to many of us (landmen and landowner) alike in your insight (professional and otherwise).

I was personally hoping not to get involved in the usual "web forum politic", but considering how much I really deplore elitism (particular in a forum providing advice), I suppose a few of us (KB, Mom, Snake and the gang) can go on battling and highlighting the counterproductive nature of the vitriolic and sarcastic posts of others on a forum such as this. You just keep doing what you are doing.

Your advice has always been impartial, sage, and above all else, understanding and compassionate of those with a varying scope of knowledge of this O&G business. People like you represent the highest values that a forum like this can have in disseminating information to the general public. You neither pump this play up to the moon, nor do you excessively downplay it. You tell it like it is, as you see it, to the best of your knowledge and ability.

I have said it elsewhere, and I will say it here (it bears repeating): thank you, Jay, and thank you for your service.
nice comment dion-
I have never ask jay a single question , but I have read all 97 pages of his posts. A lot of my questions have been answered there. With the volume of people asking the same questions that he has already answered, I can understand how he would feel. I feel his knowledge would never be replaced if he left. This would be one of the biggest blows to the whole Haynesville site, not just Nathcitoches Parish network, but everyone. It would be like letting the o/g people getting to us with a chump change lease. Jay, I don't know you and you don't know me, but we need you. I do know that the material you have posted has helped me tremendously.

Thanks , but stay !
This is a grassroots based site and Jay represents the purpose for this site...he's a landowner..who happens to be a geologist who happens to be very knowledgeable and who happens to want to be helpful.
Jay,
Your valued assistance has been appreciated. I would hate to see you go but I also understand how you feel. Many of us feel the same when dealing with the same people.
I was taught if you could not say something good......
Maybe they missed that speech in life.
Jay
Please stay.
You are great.
Don't the bad actors get to you.
You have helped me several times.
Ithank you for all your freely given knowledge and opinions.
Take breather...but don't go for good.
Thanks VSC
Jay, I hope you decide to stick with this. You are a very valuable asset. Everyone needs good, accurate, and honest information. From all of your post I believe that you always deliver just exactly that and I do hope that you will continue to give your view points. Thanks for all the help.
Jay............One of the first things that I remember learning as a very young child was Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. You know and I know, that is not true. The pen or the printed word is mightier than the sword. Our tongues and in the case our words can be as sharp and painful as a serpent's fangs. You have been so helpful to us. You have tirelessly given us factual information that we would not have been privy to. If we lose you, the O&G guys win. We are all in this together. Our team must bond together more now than ever before. We are on the precipice of a great and mighty adventure. There will always be Jim McConnells in this world. They are a dime a dozen. All the money in the world cannot buy another Jay.
Thanks for all that you have done for us in our quest for knowledge. I pray that you see it in your heart to hang in with us for the long haul.
