30 Million Cubic Feet Per Day Well #241502????

Well #241502 appears to have a full month of 30mcf/day.  There is a 2 well count yet subtracting well #239169 still would leave a 30mcf/day number.  Am I making an error?  Is this correct?

Parkdota, it definitely appears as though the following well averaged over 30 MMcfd for November.  I believe the #1 Well would have produced less than 2 MMcfd and combined two wells produced 32.5 MMcfd for the month.  This may explain why EnCana is drilling seven additional wells in this section.

Les, thanks for info.  I thought I was crazy when I 1st looked at it.  30 mcf a day is one of the biggest I've seen for sure.

Maybe Encana trying to drain as much gas as possible before they plug it. Not sure DNR is going to allow 9 HA wells in one section.

Nope, not what I meant, Parkdota.  All wells deplete and often the choke is opened as the production slows.  There is no required correlation between "output and input".  The question is one of capacity and the production decisions of the operator.  In your example there exists take away capacity for both wells even with the initial well on a wide open choke.  In other areas where the capacity is less you may see an earlier well placed on a restricted choke as one in close proximity is turned to sales.  I reviewed one last week that was choked to 5/64" when a new well in an adjoining section was turned to sales.  There's no requirement of which I am aware that requires an operator to maintain gas flow equaling the gathering system capacity.  Then again I don't see any reason other than economics to produce less that the system capacity.

I see...thanks.  My excell programs show the wells lasting well over 30 years which now makes sense as I did not account for chokes being opened up over time.  I guess that is good for the mineral owner as they will get the royalty income faster.

FXEF, it is possible for the State to allow over 8 wells in a section by approving spacing exceptions.  It is not logical that EnCana would "plug" a well because of spacing rules.

Les, #241502 now only shows a 1 well count.  Is it possible that when they opened up the choke on #239169 to 64/64 that they did it to get as much as possible and then shut it down as it was an original east, west lateral test well?

Its making around 13.9 million/day. The allowable is 21, 593.
