Anyone have a comment on a 4935 ac unit? (besides WTF)  And what does the "O" mean as in "Well # O  1H"?

j garrett, if you go back to 2008 and look at the New Horizons #1H plat, it shows the outline of the entire unit which is 6811 acres. It says, on the plat, "New Horizons Oil & Gas, Ltd. Lease" and all of the wells are permitted as "non-unitized". These minerals appear to be under one lease.

Now, if you look at yesterday's permits, XTO filed one for Duke Ruddman #1H which is on the New Horizons acreage but is a pooled unit. So, it looks like they are breaking out part of the New Horizons acreage into another unit and changing the name of two of the NH wells (see comments on W-1)

It looks like they are trying to hold some leases by production but it has to be a pretty chancy move. If I was the property owner who had the burden of the actual well I would not want to share production with the owners on the outside of the unit. Likewise if a low production well came in I might not want to be burdened by sharing. It probably will be determined by the language of the lease but mine references 640 acres more or less and 4935 is way more than needed. Just mho
