First off, Thanks all for the great and helpful info thus far. I am definitely going to get an Atty to help with the forensic mineral rights investigation. Can anyone recommend a good O&G who is "Property Owner Oriented" not an oil company rep? Someone hopefully you or someone you know may have worked with recently. Caddo Parish area a plus.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Grant Summers in Shreveport did an excellent job for me recently. Reasonable documentated rates also.
Mr. Summers is high on my list of competent, experienced land owner oriented O&G attorneys also. He is a partner in the law firm, Davidson, Jones & Summers, APLC - Shreveport - 318-424-4342. Mr. Summers was one of the two lead attorneys in the successful, recent court case of Ferrara vs. Questar which remains the prime topic of conversation among the legal community specializing in Oil & Gas law.

Erik,
I would also recommend Randal Davidson. The firm of Davidson, Jones and Summers has done a great job for me as well.
Jack Blake has never heard of a "good attorney", well except for Craven Moorhead and Jack Mehoff of Moorhead & Mehoff out of Pelican, LA.
Jack Blake has joshed.
I met him at a law convention, he was there with Mike Hunt and Harry Balzac. Oh by the way, I really liked you in Shallow Hal and Nacho Libre. You're a great actor!!
Nacho Libre rocks howled Jack Blake!
Thanks all, for the recommendations.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
