Chesapeake Increases LA Haynesville Development

If you check the weekly rig report, you will have noticed that Chesapeake restarted Haynesville drilling with a single rig back at the beginning of February. Then a few month later there were 2 Chesapeake rigs reporting. Today the following well permits were entered in the database. This appears to be an increased interest in Haynesville production by Chesapeake. We'll see if they bring in a third rig on the report for next Friday. If not, then I would assume they will continue with the two rig drilling program. Either way it reinforces the notion that Haynesville returns are driving an increase in rigs to the play.

Here is a snapshot of CHK Haynesville wells since the company has returned to a drilling schedule. The status code 01 wells are permitted wells some of which have already been spud or TD'ed.
