This is good news. In a conference call the Chesapeake CEO announced that they ramped up drilling in the Haynesville shale play from 4 rigs to 8 rigs in the last quarter of 2013. The CEO had a lot of good things to say about this gas play being a world class asset and that they plan to optimize drilling it.

It might be good news for vendors, but ultimately its going to be an operator lots of folks are frustrated with.  

Reading between the lines, they are bringing rigs back because other areas they don't have enough gas gathering available at an attractive price.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
