Been watching a section, 32-11-14, in Desoto. On Sonris it appears that CHK is the operator, but the lease was to Comstock. The pad was finished, but the lease has now expired. I have not read any news concerning Comstock lately. Are they still around?

Comstock is currently drilling in other plays.  They have the following well permits in the Haynesville Play but no active rigs.  Use the link to their website if you want to see where they are active.

Thanks for the information Skip. If they permitted as late as Sept 26, 2012 then they must still be intrested in the Haynesville.

Jo Ann, I think all the Haynesville operators are still interested.  They just can not generate enough cash flow from drilling HA wells at this time.  The movement of rigs away from the Haynesville is temporary.  All the companies will be back to drill a lot more wells in the future unless they sell their leasehold.  In a little over three years of steady drilling the current operators have drilled somewhere in the ballpark of 10% of proven HA locations.  The HA is still one of the best assets any of these companies own and they know it will be great for their balance sheets in the future.  It's all a question of "when".
