Surely must be some type of typo with Sonris - way too many dry holes everywhere.

Impossible to verify without some well serial numbers or specific well names and section-township-range locations.

Take a look at this week's Sonris scout report -

If you want an answer you will have to post specific wells.  Serial numbers or well names with section-township-range.

Just guessing, but I imagine your reference base is that of SONRIS and it is indeed the state agency who has posted the weekly scout report which is filled with "DRY HOLE" status for an inordinate number of wells throughout the Shreveport District, covering the following fields:

Bellevue Field / Benton Field /  Sentell Field / Caddo Pine /  Caspiana /  Metcalf Field / Rodessa Field / Athens / Blackburn /  East Haynesville / Oaks/ Bethany Longstreet / Grogan / Holly/ Red River-Bull Bayou / Ruston / Terryville / Woodardville / Bayou San Miguel Field

Ah, the Scout Report.  I'm with you now john.  Although I get my data in other parts of the database I am familiar with the Scout Reports.  One of the reasons I do not use it is that it contains a lot of old well reports.  Check the dates. Also it covers every field in the Shreveport District and includes a lot of fields that are conventional reservoirs.  Conventional reservoirs have lots of Dry Holes.  If you are seeing more than usual it could be that the district is contacting operators who haven't updated their well statuses in a timely matter. I don't see anything out of the ordinary with this week's report.
