Anyone local to the Avoyelles area hearing anything about the Eagles Ranch Well? It appears that they recently finished drilling well and should be moving frac crews on location soon.

Its called a decline curve and you will see lesser volumes in the future. The key is how long will it produce and where it flattens out.

Cindy, Feb. production is the most recent listed for all the wells I follow on SONRIS.  March production volumes should be entered in the database no later than Friday.  April production would be posted the last week of June.  That's the normal lag time between the end of a production month and that volume appearing in the database - just less than two months.

I have seen March production 3 weeks ago on the ones I follow. Should be soon on this well.

Who is EOG selling their interest to which companies?

A landman who is working West Feliciana said EOG is buying up leases.  Might be just a rumor.  I live across the street from the well and I say just as long as I hear those diesel engines 24/7 running I'm happy.

6374 BO & 5741 MCF for the month (production)

There is also a new production test (4/5/18) on SONRIS

Appears to be a flowing test with 146# on open (64/64") choke

187 BO, 172 MCF & 212 BW per day

Thinking that EOG may let well continue to decline to a point where they will install some sort of artificial lift to help unload the lateral and got more fluid to surface. This low a gas rate and associated pressure in being impacted by the fluid column and  hydrostatic pressure from the fluid in the wellbore holding back O&G&Water from getting into the wellbore and being produced.

RM, any idea how the flow might improve, from ~200 barrels per day on artificial lift?

Right now it appears that the well is producing under its own power. Figuring the wellbore and lateral is full of fluid (water and oil), you have some major pressure sitting on the formation limiting fluid (O&G & water) influx.

Artificial lift (gas lift? Surface pump? downhole pump / ESP? Jet pump?) will keep the wellbore unloaded and allow for non restricted flow into the wellbore and to surface.

How much could production increase? Great question and no way to really know until the artificial lift is installed. EOG will have a better idea of potential results since they have data that is not in the public record.

The major limitation on artificial lift assisted production is how much fluid (O&G & water) can this 4000' +'- treated lateral give up assuming that there is no hydrostatic pressure column holding things back.

Once artificial lift is installed, EOG will see if the well "pumps off", i.e. gets to the point where there is nothing coming into the wellbore after a certain volume is produced.

E.G. Well may only be able to produce 500 BO & 500 MCF plus water per day at best. If you over pump the well, one will exceed what the wellbore can produce and you get a well on vacuum as to pumping and artificially lifting fluid from the wellbore. Which is not a good thing for various mechanical reasons.

This is why wells are oftentimes put on timers as to how long they pump (e.g. pump for 40 minutes, shut in for 40 minutes, repeat).

As is typical in the oil field, time will tell. And it takes a lot of time to get the answers that are needed.

Also as typical (at least with me), there is no short answer to a question like this.

Personally, the fact that the well is still making over 400 barrels of total fluid per day on its own energy is not bad. There is a lot of pressure sitting on the formation limiting this fluid feed in.

 RM, I consider that a good response to a question that was asked with no expectation of a definitive answer,  Thanks.

PS on my earlier response - there may be debris in the wellbore / lateral from frac plugs and other equipment that was milled / drilled out after the frac stimulation was completed. This type of obstruction can also limit the ability of the lateral to unload and produce.

It should also be noted that this well is producing up 5.5" casing. There is no mention of any tubing in this wellbore as per SONRIS - EOG's next step may be to move in rig to install tubing (2.875"?) - this smaller set of tubulars helps a wellbore to unload due to unload easier (puts more back pressure on the well and creates more pressure to unload well / oftentimes called a "velocity string")..

This is a normal practice in most unconventional horizontal plays as to improving production once initial post frac flowback period has passed.
