Anyone local to the Avoyelles area hearing anything about the Eagles Ranch Well? It appears that they recently finished drilling well and should be moving frac crews on location soon.Continue

"Thanks Jay - any idea of why it would be increased at this stage of the production profile?  The 85 bbl/d allowable rate for June is what makes this substantial increase very puzzling to me"

"Les, what artificial lift method is being used? Gas lift? Down hole pump / ESP? Something else? Thanks for comments on this"

"The Eagles Ranch well gas lift equipment was installed with the tubing in October 2017 - I'm assuming this artificial lift system has been operational. As stated before on a previous post, what I find very interesting is the…"

"pretty flat oil production but gas picking up over time. Thanks for posting. Based on comments from others on this site, the flare is not consistent - have to figure that is due to either well loading up and "killing" gas or flare…"

"I didn't think about it but I'm not sure you could drill a lateral underbalanced even if there were some benefit to the formation to be had down the road."

"Underbalanced drilling was used to allow the well to flow from the natural fractures that were encountered. The fact that this is now a matrix play where you frac the reservoir makes that approach unnecessary."

"I don't recall but did they drill this well underbalanced or did they drill them conventionally as Anadarko did a few years back?"

"Higher prices always help - but my experience is that they tend to come with higher operating costs (D&C). But overall a good thing for sure. In today's climate, it is hard to figure on anything as to O&G prices over time. Stability…"

"EOG or anyone else could not economically survive with wells like this one. But I believe that EOG is looking at this as a "test well" to monitor AC reservoir performance in this area. Which may explain the apparent lack of artificial lift…"

"It certainly is interesting, but my question is can a company the scale of EOG have a field of these wells (with the same decline rate) pay for the cost of the well fast enough to satisfy investors and then pay for the overhead to keep them going…"
