Thanks for the heads up, Les. This has remained the unknown and neglected corner of the Play for some time. And I am sure a lot of members will be gratified to know it is about to get some attention.

It's not permitted yet, but there is a well site under construction in S5-T12N-R8W just off the Brushy Creek Rd.

Much further South, but not as far east. Encana's Adcock 17-H in 13/8 may actually be the farthest easterly well to date.

whats up with the messenger well it is listed as a cotton valley on sonris and is not showing much production. is that area still in the play? any info would be helpful!

From the Messenger SONRIS Scout Report:

COMPLETED 9-8-08; GAS; CV RA; 5727 MCFD; 12/64 CHOKE; 8376 FP; CP ON PRK; PERFS 13,346-13,817'

The "PERFS" are at Haynesville depths regardless of what the producing formation is called.

And production from a "vertical" shale well always exhibits rapid decline as the portion of the formation that is fraced is small.

Find another vertical well that has this kind of production.
This has to mean something for the area this well is in.

BD. You are correct. It's one heck of a vertical HA well. However, it leaves me, and you, wondering what it would be producing with a 4620' lateral and 12 to 15 frac stages. I suspect it would be impressive. The lag time between completion of the Messenger (the first HA well I ever scouted) and now has concerned a lot of mineral owners. Maybe the wait will be over soon. Certainly this year.

Exactly, I think the Companies are laying low on this area. Why is there no activity in the area of the most productive vertical well in the play? CV or HA who cares?
