thanks for the info sesport, the contamination from H2S from bacteria that deep and the potential to ruin a well shines a new light on fracking.  I noticed they used a 'C' in fracking other than a 'K'.  Wonder which is correct?

Read the article.  One of the chemicals used prevents bacteria from contaminating the fractured section of the well.  I would think someone would understand when the words, 'that deep', would imply the well, not a water well.
