Well, finally, someone has mentioned the price of N. Gas. I have been watching it for 3 weeks now..and its has climbed a few cents, dropped a few more, then next day climbed. Predicted early last week it would top $3 by end of week this week. Now if it just holds thru tomorrow to close on a Friday over that. Its time for it to climb.
I saw Kravis of KKR on business CNBC (the fund that bought Samson last year) and he didn't say one word about N.Gas, but he did claim that his KKR would make 25% on investments. I am hoping he included his holdings in Shale in that upturn prediction.
dbob---" the Contrarian " LOL----- You like my "sport betting god" If I bet no matter which side and I say "Fat lady can sing" "put the money in the Bank" some one has the Miracle HellMary play last second and I lose. I promise I will make no prediction for next week!!!!
its taboo to say anything good.... but i like the trend
dbob---- now dam ---why you go saying that--- you want to wake up my "sport God"?
CME HH closed at $2.999 today. Damn that ceiling. Let's make it the floor so we can dance a little bit for a change. Those dollar marks were barriers coming down though. It works both ways.
It's 11:22 on America's Left Coast and NATURAL GAS HAS BROKEN ABOVE $3.00!!!

HANG:
As you might've guessed by now, I kinda tend to be straight-up blunt, not being one to play games in regards to lucky charms, etc.
Anyway, NG had nudged above $3 way earlier in the day. Here's a tracking bookmark, HANG, if you don't already have it.

Now, I'm sure some of our savvy members know how to crunch the numbers, yet possibly a few newbie members might not realize the math of what I'm fixin' to state via the keyboard.
Note: When NG was at $2, we were really getting run over. No doubt about it. And those royalty statements, per the bottom, have been being mailed out this month, too.
Okay, so -- per that context -- what is half of $2?
Right, it's $1.
In other words, what some may not realize per this amazing bull run-up in NG from a ten-year low (besides it sorta being totally unpredicted via it's rapid momentum up, except that our very own KOH actually called it, spot-on, per her going way out on a limb when few others thought that such could ever happen so quickly with the commodity vis-a-vis the general circumstances of only a few months back)? -- anyway, do the math.
At $3 -- that means it's been a fifty percent gain up from $2, being as half of $2 is $1; and NG has moved up $1, i.e., moved up fifty percent off it's bottom of not that long ago.
Hey, that's some wild momentum moving up that fast, is it not?
Of course, the facts speak for themselves. Hot, hot summer. High grid demand per the A/C usage. Pull back in rigs. Less in storage.
Huh.
So, only a few months back, the dang experts were spinning their predictions, and they turned out to have gotten it wrong by saying NG would remain in a lower trading range into the near term.
Yet, y'know, stuff happens.
That said, the jury is still out on how long the bull will run with NG. Tough call.
Of course, it is possible that if usage continues up and if storage stays in need and per a number of other if's -- we can only hope NG will stay above $2.60 -- with gyrations on news flows, with maybe a cycle bottom near the end of fall (once the summer grid usage abates and storage tops out).
Hey, if it just stays above $2.50 -- well, we now know how bad it could be.
Finally, today I was talking to a guy who's worked in O&G in Alaska (with years of experience in the business) -- and he said that T. Boone was right. In other words, what the guy meant was . . . was that our future will be more and more dependent upon NG.
Yep, and this insider also knew how much more efficient LNG big rigs are as compared to CNG trucks.
That's the future, was his thinking.
And the future is truly bright for NG.
NG is a much cleaner-burning fuel that dirty coal.

KOH isnt' smart..she just old and reads her history books.
But for the moment she is smiling.
I never never called a Cowboy game back in the olden day of Landry before the last quarter closed. I also never figured out whether it was a Miracle they scored in those last 2 seconds or if it was a fix for the bookies ...I kind of lean toward the bookie theory now.
We have bookies in Washington...So I figure whatever going to happen depends on which side they put their money.
Thing that worries me is that I feel like the shoe is about to drop...in terms of conflict ...and I just cannot see how Israel is going to survive. I think the fix is in.. on that. Wish they had settled on an nice spot of land in the Gulf and insured their survival.
I try to keep it simple. Fact: we could be oil and gas independent in a matter of months...but we are not going to be. Why? Follow the money and the politics. Who has the money? Saudi of course. The Chinese are not the bad guys here...they just doing business..
If the money flow into the sands of Mid East is threatened look out.
And this is NOT why NG is going up. If it was then the price would be over $7 right now.
OK come on over and bring the strait jacket...I surrender.
KRK, I used to work in community mental health. Sorry, but If you ASK us to come over with the straight-jacket then we don't. People who think they need mental health treatment really don't need it. So, you are completely sane!
Seriously, that's become a basic principle in adult mental health care around the US. If you think you need help, that's a sure sign that you don't.
If you do not think you are crazy, that clearly shows how crazy you really are and that's when we come over with the straight-jacket.
How high could NG prices go before Coal started looking good for elec generation..?
That's NG's primary competitor isn't it?
I don't think so..I think that coal has seen its day. EPA simply not going to let it remain or be viable alternative. I don't know about Lignite..its a coal..
Good conversation going on here or whatever it's called on the net. For those that say N.I.M.B.Y. for a natural gas rig, I do alot of traveling all over the country, almost bi-weekly on a plane now, and I would much rather have a natural gas location in my back yard/on my property than a coal mine. I've seen those in KY and wouldn't want any part of it, very dirty! We own property in the Dolet Hills lignite mine and it has been tied up for 20 years or so. One piece had an indian cave on it with paintings on the wall but it's gone forever now. I guess there wasn't much thought put into protecting areas like that when they started strip mining.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
