Attached is the latest on prices received by landowners in the Haynesville Shale.  It's been a while since I posted, and I will continue to collect data and try to update the survey every 3 - 6 months.  Thanks to all of you who submit pricing information to me.

No sir I am a graduate engineer, registered professional that does work in the oil section for 50+ years now. Was born and raised in the Oil fields, have work in every phase of this business. I do not give a damn how much land you own, I am only interested in seeing that my self and all other royalty owners get the best deal for the product that is taken from their Land. An YES I was responding to your stupid remark. I am 79 years old and live in the greatest Country in the world. I respect the office of the President regardless of How I feel personally. My feelings are for me and do not care to hear what others have to say. This site like others are supposed to be for the benifit of Royalty Owners.

Mr. Smith:

Your generation of WW II veterans and of those who lived through the hardscrabble suffering of the Great Depression . . . have paid a heavy price for our freedoms.  It's quite sad when a respectable man of honor and integrity (such as yourself) has to read such insulting trash talk on the Internet.

Of course, as you know, you are exactly right.  GHS is not a political forum, i.e., the focus here is on sharing O&G knowledge.  And having such experienced professionals, such as yourself, explaining stuff to those who've never worked in the oil patch or behind a desk in Houston, is key to achieving Keith's intent of running this site without heartless name-calling.

I apologize for the way some of the members have expressed their political attitudes.  Unknowingly, by the way they treat others, they do their cause a great injustice.  And rarely do they ever apologize when they're wrong.  It's the great flaw of unchecked egos running rampant on the Internet.  In other words, their actions speak volumes about their true values.

Also, thanks again for your work with the La. Attorney Generals' office.  Your effort to get the AG to investigate the NG pricing concerns was a job well done.  Such concern for others took a good bit of time on your part.  Most with any sense know this.

Finally, since these postings are somewhat self-moderated by certain members and since there are so many postings by so many folks, those of us who don't like to argue with anonymous avatars (who try to bully others per off-topic issues and who try to make it personal, when this is all just business) . . . well, us long-term GHS members have learned to simply not to respond to these unprofessional antics.

Yes, it's heartbreaking to see how civility and good manners and honor have been lost by those who have proceeded to put the almighty dollar above all else.

Take care, Mr. Smith.

I like Mr. Smith, he knows how to spell!

Thank you very much for the very good posting, I try my best to ignore the majority of post that do not speak about the topic of this forum. As I have said, I was born in the oil patch, my Dad started out in AK in 1919/1920 and worked his way from a roughneck to a Drilling and Production Foreman in charge of a very large field here in South Louisiana. My first job in the Oil Patch was as a kitchen helper, I was not 21 years old and could not work in the field. Then after going through Avaition Cadet Traning in the USAF and then getting my discharge from the USAF, I went to work in the field for TEXACO, INC, first as a roustabout, then rig builder, on a pile driving crew and then to the drilling rig. When I left the field and went to college in September 1959 I was derrick man on the largest inland drilling rig owned by Texaco, Inc. We pulled 120' stands not the standard 90'. I started college in September 1959 and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in May 1962. I have worked in the field of Corrosion Engineering ever since. I started my own company in January 1968 and we are still in business serving the Natural Gas Pipelines throught out the South.

I am still working because I love this field very much and feel we do a great service for this GREAT COUNTRY BY protecting the many miles of buried  Pipelines. My feelings are that my Religion and Political beliefs belone only to me and do not push either on anyone else.

Again, Thanks for the kind words.

Larry G. Smith P.E.

sounds you already did respond....

Larry, everything is political these days...adjust..and learn.

Mike,
Are you leased? If you are not leased you have to wait until the well pays off. It's been my experience that until you have a customer number, a letter from an attorney is about the only thing that warrants a response.

Can we just email you our stub from petrohawk directly?

Henry... Can you update this please.... More specifically CHK for Feb 2012.... I think their accounting is way off for this month.

Thanks

Has anyone else received the feb check from chk?

$1.27  Really?  Is this a mistake?

This $1.27 can't be accurate... Everyone needs to send CHK a certified letter putting them on notice... Actually, a class action suit sounds more realistic... I got $1.27 as well this is not accurate I have been monitoring this for 3 years and comparing it to other companies and CHK has gone overboard on this one..... Anyone else getting the same?

John Smith,

Yes, $1.27 sounds low.  I looked at the one CHK check of a relative, and it paid $2.19 for Feb.  (This was not in the Haynesville Shale -- but I doubt that makes this big of a difference.)

Yep, I think Katie could help with this one.....?
