I think it just seems fitting to start 2011 with the approval of the 15,000th member.

This site continues to blow my mind...currently there are 32 members waiting for membership approval and site traffic has grown by over 25% since last year at this time. And all this with natural gas prices in the krapper. Thanks for being a part of it!

It's HUGE considering where we were when I joined in '08 (less than 100).  The site is amazing and you are, too, for the work you do to keep it going.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
