Wow, unsures were that many? My guess, it's like the committee hearing ... we don't know what they think they know because we know what's not known isn't what they know. But we can't just keep doing what we've always done, either.

LOL, It's something similar to an explanation I saw somewhere else. The last part was serious, though. Either the federal gov't. steps in or we take better control of this ourselves through the state. After reading Dr. Mead's writings, I think it will turn out better if we do it ourselves (state oversight).

Braveheart - I don't think anyone is saying there's something "wrong" at this point. To me, those poll numbers indicate a lack of knowledge and/or comprehension on the matter. I've looked at much of the information back in the GHS Environmental group (much of which is from the Barnett shale play and others), I continue to look for more.

IMMVHO, and following the thoughts of Mead, the water is more valuable than the land, even more than the resource to be produced. Why not take a look at it now (hey, we've got a little slow down going on, rig count is down, production is slowed, we're waiting on pipeline) as opposed to later when we may not be able to remediate problems?

The tricky part about these polls is that they are based on IPs. So it may leave out a fairly large swath of people, but it gives us a little bit of insight into what people are thinking.
