Henry, here is the full unit information.

S30-T16N-R10W, HA RA SU109 Unit, Petrohawk, Elm Grove Field, Bossier Parish
HA (Haynesville Zone) RA (Reservoir A) SU 109 (Sand Unit 109)
Thanks Skip,
I always wondered what the SU meant. Our lease was signed mid year 2008. Three year term with 2 year option. Do you think it possible to get to it before the lease expires? Also, do you have any way to know if all property is leased in this unit? or if there would be a problem due to the fact that too much is unleased. Thanks.
MIssy, yes to your first question. The only way to determine the acres under lease in a section is to perform a search of leases affecting that section in the parish Clerk of Court records. That can be a tedious process as each lease must be inspected for the s-t-r. There is no means to search by s-t-r so searches must be by grantor )lessor) or grantee (lessee). As there is often more than one lessee in a section, this can become quite time consuming. Chesapeake has thousands of leases filed in DeSoto Parish alone. The best way to conduct such a search is to obtain the tract information from the parish tax assessor and perform the search by grantor (lessor). Obviously rural areas with a limited number of surface ownerships is easier than developed areas with many different surface owners. This will get you close but it is possible that there are mineral servitudes not listed on the property tax rolls and also lessees may hold executed leases that have not yet been filed of record.
Missy, are you in Section 30, 1610? Bossier Paish
Missy,

I still see leases in 16N 11W and 16N 10W being filed regularly by Petrohawk.

In Bossier, I haven't seen many other areas with leases being filed.
16N - 11W is 8 & 10 bcf country. 17N - 11W goes from 6 to 4 to "outside the line" in 4 miles as the crow flies. In this area the 10 bcf and the 4 bcf contours are only separated by 8 miles.
smith1,
yes. Leased with Chesapeake.
Missy, we are in 161030, leased with petrohawk
