The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that in June, natural gas production in the Haynesville shale formation in northeastern Texas and Louisiana averaged 6.35 Bcf/d, accounting for 8.5% of the total U.S. dry natural gas production, Haynesville’s highest production level since November 2012.

The Haynesville formation lies deep underground between 10 500 and 13 500 ft. In comparison, the depth of the Marcellus shale ranges between 4000 and 8500 ft.  This depth makes drilling costs in the Haynesville shale generally higher than other shale plays. However, breakeven costs have decreased in recent years, making Haynesville natural gas economic at its current prices, according to the EIA.

Very interesting.  Thanks for posting.  We rarely hear about the Texas side of the Haynesville.  I wonder how it is doing.

Attached is graph of the top 250 Hayneville Gas producers (by avg per day rate) for District 6 only in Texas. DI has limitations as to number of wells that can be lumped into their "Graphing Workbench" application..
About 25 BCF per month production from this set of wells as of May 2018 numbers.

Limited Haynesville production in District 5 only adds another 10 Million per month to the production stream.

The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
