House speaker touts natural gas

Associated Press - August 17, 2009 12:25 PM ET

ELK CITY, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma House Speaker Chris Benge is touting state incentives for using natural gas for transportation.

The Tulsa Republican filled up his compressed natural gas-fueled Chevrolet Impala on Monday at a new CNG fueling station in Elk City. Benge was joined by Apache Corp. Chairman G. Steven Farris, whose company built its first station in the western Oklahoma city.

The station has the capacity to refuel 100 vehicles per day and will be used initially to fuel more than 40 Apache field vehicles equipped to run on CNG.

State lawmakers earlier this year passed a series of tax incentives for building CNG stations and converting vehicles to run on natural gas.

Apache says it plans to build two more stations in Oklahoma.

Okay. Glad we got that cleared up. For a minute I thought you were talking about Nancy Pelosi. Knew that couldn't be true.
LMAO! I had the same first impression! Heck, she didn't even know that natural gas is a hydrocarbon until a few months ago. She suggested we move away from burning hydrocarbons and move closer to clean non-hydrocarbon fuels...like natural gas! I was rolling on the floor at her utter stupidity and then the horror set it...this loser is 3rd in line for the presidency of these United States! The only thing more horrifying than that is that JOE BIDEN is number two in line!!!
You certainly know how to write a headline that attracts attention! HA!
jhh
No, i thought it was excellent!

He's the master of misleading headlines.
Can we get this crap off the site!
Wish we could get some of those CNG stations all over the country. It surely would help a) our industry, b) our country and c) our environment.

A lot more advantages than burning food via ethanol!

Mr. frank, happy? I stuck to the topic for once!!!!!!!!!!!!!
