Two stages per 12 hour shift. A 16 stage fracture will take about 8-10 days.

Wow, that's way short of what I thought. I guess an operator can have the well drilled and fractured in roughly 50 days. That's amazing.

In the best case scenario that might be true, but in actuality it's going to take a little longer.

Parkdota, the issue is trying to schedule the frac crew and get all the equipment on location after the drilling rig is moved off. Once in "superpad" mode the operator may be able to shorten the time between drilling end and the start of completion operations.

FXEF, can Encana drill Sections 7 & 8 in 14/14 from that pad in Sec. 20 and just open up the perforations in sections 7 & 8

KCM, operators typically only want to drill double length laterals if they can complete the entire length. Exception might be to drill under a large lake and in those cases the operator would apply for larger units.

JB's well has thirteen frac stages. What is the optimum number of frac stages?

Jack, it depends on the operator, area and design but generally in the range of 12 to 23 stages. Some operators are going for more stages but shorter intervals per stage.
