Mainland Resources, Inc. Enters Agreement for Acreage to Test Expanded Haynesville Shale Area in Mississippi

June 23, 2009 9:15 AM EDT

HOUSTON, June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mainland Resources, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: MNLU 5MN-Frankfurt) a Nevada Corporation (the "Company") has signed a Letter Agreement to acquire up to 8000 net acres in Mississippi. Mainland will own a 100% Working Interest in the acreage and will be the Operator.

The project has been identified using reprocessed seismic, as well as log information, from a well drilled in the early 1980s by a major oil company. That proprietary data shows prospective Bossier/Haynesville Shale and Hosston formations. The Bossier/Haynesville Shale was not considered a viable or economic production resource in the early 80s and therefore, was not validated during drilling to a deeper prospective target. The well was drilled as a controlled blowout through the Bossier/Haynesville Shale to Total Depth.

According to available well logs from drilling, the identified Bossier/Haynesville Shale is demonstrated to be over 2500 feet thick with extremely large pressures up to or exceeding 20,000 psi. The well was still in the Bossier/Haynesville Shale when drilling operations were discontinued due to high pressures, etc. The Bossier/Haynesville Shale is possibly much thicker than 2500 feet, which is several times thicker than the Bossier/Haynesville Shale encountered in NW Louisiana. The density neutron log from the previous drilling also shows good average porosity from 12% to 15%.

Mainland President Mike Newport states, "We like what we see in this prospect and it could be an excellent addition to our Bossier/Haynesville Shale, and Hosston/Cotton Valley assets in NW Louisiana. If the data bares out, this project could be a truly world-class play where our Company is well-positioned in additional significant Bossier/Haynesville shale."

Bird what took you so long? I expected you here 4 hours ago?
Skip maybe...just maybe...your wrong. I know it sounds stupid...but maybe your just not correct all of the time.
Jaybird - "your" should be "you're," the contractionf for "you are."

best & thanks for your thoughts on this - sesport :0)
Thank you mr perfect....Sorry to make a mistake...atleast I admit it. My apologies to the group! :o)
jaybird. I ain't infallible but this is my livelihood and I work hard at it 8 to 12 hours a day. I process more information in a day than most members ( with the absolute exception of Les B.) do in a month. I post a portion of my research on GHS because I enjoy the interaction and hope to assist in the education of the members. I am more than willing to leave it up to the members whether they find my posts accurate and pertinent. I do not hesitate to speak up when I read information that I consider inaccurate and potentially damaging. Whether it is posted by someone from the "industry" or by a "layman".
Jaybird...I meant no disrespect to you at all. I was merely stating a simple rule of spelling & mechanics. I thanked you for your thoughts, sincerely.

So, now, you & the others should just agree to disagree and move on, don't you think?

best again, sincerely - :0)
No disrespect taken. I know how hard all of you work...however, I don't see how deleting some of the members posts without giving all members a chance to read is acceptable. I know gray shales just posted a well log from Lincoln Parish in which a well known Geologist said it was known to be shale and someone just deleted it without question or comment from any of the members on here. I just don't think it's fair and it's becoming one sided on here. I am not a landman...I am a landowner. All of us have opinions but give me the reason why it was deleted please.

Jaybird
Sorry Jaybird - I'm not aware of grayshale's post and I'm not aware of it being deleted. I've had a comment deleted before so I asked Keith in an email and got a response from him. Perhaps that's the best route to take to find out the reason.

Hope this helps - :0)
Keith apparently is not available due to personal matters...which I fully respect.

I don't know why it was deleted...but I am just curious just who deleted it...a landman?...a member?...the "moderator?...a paying sponsor?...who knows and to be honest with you...it doesn't matter. I was just curious to see if the person would speak up on why he/she deleted it without letting everyone on this site view it and respond to it.

I thought this site was about learning and sharing information. Apparently it's about what the moderator wants us to see. And that my friends is not right, fair and just plain wrong.

Goodnight to all....Jaybird
Is a sand always coventional? Also what is meant by the term tight sand reservoir? Thanks for the input in advance.
Les,
No need to apologize to me. I hope everyone has gas.
Lets see, you did say "Deep Bossier Sand"?
Jaybird,
Was Grays log posted in the Lincoln Parish Group? I never saw the post, and I did not delete it. It is my understanding that only the administrator, group creator, or moderator can delete posts, but I could be wrong.
