Reading Shaleeee reminded me of another vet.....My uncle J.Pell Miller, a Navy Commander
in World War II, who was buried in Arlington Cemetery in 1966. I remember how grand and
respectful the ceremony was.
Afterwards, visited The Tomb of the Unknown..........changing of the guard every hour because
honor guard walks 24 hrs in honor of unknown soldiers at this grave-site. I can assure everyone
that you cannot witness this "changing of the guard" without getting a lump in your throat and
a tear in your eye. The silence is deafening........no one seems to move ......the onlookers show
great respect. An experience everyone should have.

Spc. Josha Tomlinson of Dubberly was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Services are for this Sat. at 2pm at the 1st Baptist Church in Minden. Those nuts from Kansas are going to show up to protest. They are asking for as many people to show up to form a human chain to pervent these people from getting anywhere near the family. This will be a great way to honor all of our fallen soliders.

Catfish, from what I understand there will be many, many motorcyle riders, one group is the Gray Ghost, who escorted the body from the airport, have had hundreds of calls from all over the USA saying that they will be there in peace to support the family and honor Spc. Tomlinson. Should be very impressive. God Bless All!

I NEVER EVER SAW SO MANY MOTORCYCLES OR FLAGS AS I DID SATURDAY IN MINDEN. IT WAS INDEED A GREAT TRIBUTE TO JOSH. MOTORCYCLE GROUPS CAME HUNDREDS OF MILES AWAY. ON SUNDAY A WEEK AGO A GROUP OF VETERANS ON MOTORCYCLES WHO WERE PASSING THROUGH FROM CA. GOING TO 'THE WALL' IN D.C. RODE BY COLLIES (CARL) HOUSE, STOPPED AND SALUTED AND THE CHAPLAIN SAID A PRAYER. THERE WERE ABOUT 300 MOTORCYLES IN GROUP, BUT MY DAUGHTER SAID ABOUT 60 CAME BY HOUSE

Have been to Arlington National Cemetary several times. Each experience has left a lasting impression.

I know the service will ring home and dear just how great Daddy and his comrade in arm are. I only wish my neice could do a flyover as well.....

Caliente - Again, as I said in my previous PM, my sincerest condolences to you & yours. It seems that sometimes the "civies" may not fully appreciate just how exceptional are the military membesr & their families. When the member takes a "business trip," it could be for a year, year & a half. The powers that be control more aspects of family life than most civilian employers. It takes extraordinary people to serve a full career, and most do so gladly & willingly. The values of that life, and the love of doing for the community, is/are usually passed on, too.

Our community is honored that your father & other family members serve(d).

sesport: You're deadbang accurate on those military "business trips!" It takes a certain type of spouse (read, independent and strong)!
