The state Mineral and Energy Board on Wednesday conducted its monthly lease sale in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The board collected more than $4.5 million in bonuses in the July sale. For the calendar year, the total is $31 million.

At this month’s lease sale, the board awarded 25 leases covering more than 1380 acres, out of 29 nominated tracts covering 2,924 acres.

The Board sold leases in Bienville, Caddo, Calcasieu, Cameron, Iberia, Iberville, Natchitoches, Plaquemines, Sabine and St. Mary parishes. Of the 25 tracts awarded, 12 were in north Louisiana and 13 were located in the southern parishes.
