Alright, I don't profess to be any kind of genius, but I see a LOT of wells being drilled over the last several months in Caddo Parish and this is the second week in a row that NO COMPLETION DATA is reported. Hmmm.

I surmise by this that there is a calculated movement among the majors to mask production information. Why would they do this? Are they trying to prevent royalty payments to mineral owners? Are they trying to manipulate information being used by Wall Street, economists, investors and others to prop up investment, gas pricing or stock price? Are they trying to hide the amount of gas that is continuing to go into storage? Is cash flow such a problem that they are trying to pump out and sell as much gas as possible before going through some kind of re-organization that will leave unpaid mineral owners holding debt through some long legal process?

What are they hiding?
ET, there is no mysterious plot by the operators. The newspaper elects how much well test information to report. It appears they have not reported some initial well test information for the last two weeks that is publicly available. Also, the State has been very slow in posting initial well test information on Sonris that they obtain from the operators. All indications are the operators are timely testing and reporting flow data for new wells to the State so they are not the problem.
ET,
There are a lot of wells that are being permitted and drilled, but not completed and turned to sales Look at SWEPI.... 54 permits, 2 reported completions.
54/2 is a startling ratio..
Essay, some of this is due to companies waiting on new infrastructure (pipelines, treating facilities, etc).
Les or Skip,
Any way to know if the following well is a Bossier Shale test?

COMPANY: EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc, jur ra sua; Brown Sw Min, 1-alt: 239707. WHERE: Bracky Branch, S 10, T. 13N R. 10W. DAILY PRODUCTION: 8021 mcf gas on 28/64
choke; 0 barrel n/a gravity condensate; 3761 barrels water. PRESSURE:
thru csg lbs. SPECIFICS: Jurassic RA; perforations, 12221-15905 feet,

It is an alternate well. I'm sure Haynesville & Bossier are both defined under Jurassic.
Highwayman. Field Order #917-J that authorizes jur ra sua in the Bracky Branch Field defined the depth of the formation as 9,530' to 13,400'. Field Order 917-J-1 redefined it as 9,240' to 12,920'. IMO, both seem likely to include both the Haynesville and Bossier zones. The well log would show if production is from the HA or BO. The interpretation of well logs is beyond my pay grade. Keep in my that an operator can call a formation whatever they like within certain limitations. It is the actual depth definition that is important.
Highwayman, all the Haynesville Units and Jurassic Units cover both the Haynesville Shale and Bossier Shale formations. Because the Mid-Bossier Shale interval lies just above the Haynesville Shale, it is virtually impossible to know the producing formation unless the operator provides such information.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
