A further step out to the north by Trinity Operating would put them in your vicinity. That may depend on how these two wells perform. The Initial Production (IP) data is not indicative of the future well performance. It will take another couple of months before the database contains additional month report volumes. Of course Trinity could apply to the state to form drilling units north of these two wells before then. If they do, land/mineral owners within the boundary of those units would receive a notice letter. Trinity has already stretched the play further north than I expected after following the results of Anadarko's north Caddo horizontal HA wells. Anadarko drilled a well just west of Mooringsport and another just south west and plugged and abandoned them after testing the Haynesville so that may be too far north but something further south may have a chance. Good luck.

2014-16. Here is the cliff notes on Anadarko. The code 29 well was "dry and plugged". Code 03 indicates expired permits to drill. Code 30 is plugged and abandoned.
Aethon had to take the north caddo wells to get the south bossier wells that Anadarko operated. The 14 West wells that Anadarko completed are in the Dixie/Belcher area but two were drilled further west near the state line. The first of those two (the one just west of Mooringsport was near the shore of Caddo Lake), see below, was reported dry and plugged. The other (south of Mooringsport) had marginal initial production and is still limping along today operated by Aethon.

You're welcome, good luck.
I'm not aware of any seismic work up that way. And I've never seen a Test Site Access sign associated with drilling. I suggest that you need more local intel. The best way to do that is to start a discussion in the North Caddo Parish group. Here is a link, join the group and then start a new discussion.
Hey, J. Matador hasn't had a LA well permit in twelve years. Can you be more specific about the two wells you are referring to. As far as going all the way to the lake (Caddo), Anadarko drilled two HA wells back some years ago and both were a bust. One was right on the shore west of Mooringsport and one was further south just off 169 to the west. I drove out to both of those sites when Anadarko was drilling.
Without sufficient information to identify the Matador wells, I can not provide an opinion.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
