A couple friends called me today (3/4/10) telling me that they heard on Larry Ryan's show that there

was something mentioned about the Brown Dense under the Haynesville Shale in Webster Parish.

I am really showing my ignorance and this is off topic and am prepared for the tongue lashing that will follow but today a driller told me that there is speculation that the Lafayette Shale could be as far up as Sabine Parish - what is that play - oil or gas? Is it deep or shallow! Or is this a bunch of bull. Feel free to set me straight - but be kind! Ha

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
