Did anyone receive a letter from Chesapeake with their royalty payments today stating Chesapeake is actively pursuing the acquisition of additional interests in their wells? I don't understand what the offer.

Be careful,,Dracula lurks in the shadows.
Yes, I did receive a letter about the purchasing of our minerals. Did not respond. Our mineral rights are not for sale now or in the future. Have received letters from other folks also and we jsut ignore them also.
Dracula? Nah, he's not interested in the Haynesville. Vlad's sinking his teeth into Romania's shale gas. They have a bunch of it and want to be free of the Russians.
However, we do have a very nice CHK rep named Katie. I suggest you ask her, or there are many CHK leased folks here who may have gotten similar offers for their "stake" in the Haynesville. There is also a Leased By CHK section that you could check in or post your question in. See what rises up.
Happy New Year and never forget your crucifix. Too Dogs is essentially correct, there are vampires all around us.

Can you scan the letter in and upload it to this site? If not, can you just type in the relevant parts?
I have gotten several. They are basically wanting to buy you out so it needs to go in the TRASH!
Before you consider Chesapeake's offer ask them to explain how they can justify the discrepancy between these wells! Keep in mind that this is from wells the same field and less than a mile apart!

Sorry about July but Accountant has them! Just saying this may be legal but it is robbery to the mineral owner!
Amen, think long and hard and ask a lot of questions before signing with CHK.
I am surprised, given their financial situation, that they have money to buy up the interests of their leaseholders.
ask the, price they will paid per mineral acre (Royalty% 3/16 or 25%) ? would be nice info to know?
Malcolm, can you scan the letter and post an image of it?
I get one with my royalty check just about every month. They are set up in a memo format and printed on day-glo yellow paper and ask for information on the owner's name, owner number, and a telephone & email address where you can be contacted. It does not mention the Haynesville, but does mention the Ark-La-Tex Basin so they could be including Haynesville in that. I think it is just a standard "phishing" letter they send out to everyone who gets a royalty payment. I just trash mine.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
