Depends on lateral length. Most Haynesville horizontals require 4 to 5 million gallons. That equates to a lateral length of approximately 4500 linear feet. For a round number you might figure approximately 1000 gallons per foot of lateral.

The problem with the price that people are receiving for water in the Permian Basin is ranchers are selling their water to drillers and not water districts because they get a higher price.
